About Student CryptoCourseDownloadsContact

Materials for Student Crypto

The current course material exists only in German. As all the CrypTool software is also available in English, we'd be very happy if someone can reuse the material to build a similar course in English for English speaking students and pupils. Any enhancements to the CrypTool software you might need to do so are welcome too.

All documents used in the student cryptography are available online. The documents are divided into two archives, an archive for the participating teachers and an archive for students.

The archive for teachers contains all documents, i.e. also the documents from the student day, but is only available in encrypted form. It is a self-decrypting archive, i.e. as soon as you execute the loaded file, a dialog box opens in which you can enter the key. After successfully entering the key, you can decide where you want to store the decrypted archive. The key will be given to all teachers who have participated. If you as a teacher did not receive a key, please contact Prof. Wacker by e-mail

The archive for the students contains the documents used on the student day, i.e. the presentation and the practical tasks. The corresponding solutions are not included in this archive – they are only in the teacher archive. The archive for students is freely available to everyone.

Video Recordings

Thanks to the support of the University of Kassel and the Schülerforschungszentrum Nordhessen (SFN), it has been possible to record Student Cryptos in Kassel every year since 2013. The following videos contain all three parts of the Student Crypto. In the middle part, two to three film clips are usually shown. Unfortunately, these had to be removed from the following video for copyright reasons.
